I delved into researching the pervasive oversexualisation of women in media, uncovering a deeper issue: the negative stigma faced by women expressing sensuality online, in contrast to men. This exploration highlighted the impact of societal norms and gender biases on female empowerment. Recognising the power of podcasts to challenge norms and educate, I created EmpowerHER, an interactive podcast aiming to redefine women’s sensuality portrayal and foster a more accepting online community. Through candid dialogues and expert insights, EmpowerHER encourages women to embrace their sensuality while dismantling stereotypes. Additionally, I developed a social media campaign and Instagram page to complement the podcast, fostering engagement and aiming to introduce a paradigm shift in how women’s sensuality is depicted. The culmination of my research and process led to the creation of a printed visual report detailing the journey towards developing the interactive podcast. Together, EmpowerHER and its online community strive to promote body positivity and celebrate women’s sensuality in all its forms.
